On March 16th, the members of The Bulgarian Furniture Cluster had their regular board meeting in Sofia. Representatives of the companies working together in the cluster were present while important steps forward were discussed.
Mrs Genoveva Christova presented to the attendees the project “FORESDA – Forest-based cross sectoral value chains fostering innovation and competitiveness in the Danube Region”, co-funded by the European Union Funds. The project is implemented by The Bulgarian Furniture cluster, working together with 12 project partners from 9 European Countries – Bulgaria, Austria, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia, Bosnia Herzegovina and Serbia with CyberForum, Germany being the leading partner of the Consortia. The project has set up a goal to transform the traditional forest-based areas into innovative, modern and sustainable manufacturing ones, to develop innovative-friendly ecosystems that aim to significantly improve and reconfigure existing value chains and to implement new ways of collaboration in the Danube region.
Since innovation is a very important factor in the project, the members of BFC shared ideas on some innovative activities that can increase the effectiveness in the forest-based sector.
